We were approached by Police Care UK to produce a CBeebies-style reading of “The Wolf Was Not Sleeping”. This heart-warming bedtime story was specially written to comfort children whose parents work in emergency services and to encourage emotional well-being conversations. This exclusive UK police edition of the story has been developed in partnership with Police Care UK as part of our commitment to supporting families of serving police personnel.
Our goal was to enhance the CBeebies format by bringing the book animations to life and instilling a sense of enchantment. Police Care UK reached out to Lynne Owens, the Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, to read for the project, and she enthusiastically agreed to participate.
We recorded Lynne Owens’ reading at a breathtaking stately home in Surrey. We were careful not to let the location overpower the viewer’s attention, but we also believed that it required more than a cramped studio. The animations utilized in the production were taken from the book’s assets, and our illustrators animated them with exquisite and understated movements that were in harmony with the book. Additionally, we included music and sound effects to enrich the characters and their stories.
The film was praised by Police Care UK and used to promote the good work of the police charity to its members and their families.
